The history of Griffith Airport

Griffith Airport was originally established in the 1930s as a landing strip for small planes. During World War II, the Royal Australian Air Force took over the airport and expanded it for military use. After the war, the airport was returned to civilian control and gradually expanded to accommodate larger planes and more passengers. Today, the airport is an important hub for the Riverina region of New South Wales, providing regular flights to Sydney and Melbourne as well as seasonal flights to the Gold Coast.
